It has been a while since I last introduced myself. So, for everyone who doesn’t know me, my name is Nicole and Wooden World has been my brainchild since 2016.
I grew up and lived in Switzerland until I married my Aussie husband and moved to Australia. Many amazing European wooden toy brands were part of my childhood. When I became a mum, I wanted to give my child the chance to experience the joy playing with quality wooden toys brings. But I didn’t have much luck finding what I was after in regional WA.
I knew I wasn’t alone so determined to change this, I started Wooden World. From humble beginnings, bringing wooden toys to regional markets and agricultural shows, the business has grown into supplying families, day cares and schools all over Australia.
Wooden World is still a family affair though with me running the majority of it and my husband jumping in to help whenever he can.
In wooden toys I found my passion. They are incredibly versatile, allowing for open ended, child led play where their imagination can run free, and learning happens through play.
